With Capturing Reality joining Epic Games we have updated our pricing and licensing plans, reducing costs for both new and existing customers. Below you can find answers to some questions you might have about this update:
Why did you remove the one month/three month/six month/twelve month licences?
We decided to simplify our product offering and lower our prices to improve the experience for our users. We now offer an unlimited, perpetual enterprise license that has been reduced from 15,000 EURO to 3,750 USD. All users will now have access to RealityCapture’s full suite of features. Users who do not want to purchase a full license are able to purchase PPI at lower rates than before. For more detail, please refer to our pricing and licensing plans.
How do I get the new pricing terms?
New pricing terms are available to users following the migration of your Capturing Reality account to an Epic Games account. If you experience any issues please contact sales@capturingreality.com.
How do I migrate my existing account to a new Epic account?
When you sign in to your existing account you will be prompted automatically to migrate your account using the migration wizard. No additional action needed.
Will RealityCapture continue to be supported outside of the Unreal Engine?
Yes. We will continue to support users across platforms.
Will RealityCapture continue to be supported outside of gaming?
Yes. We will continue to support users across industries.
Are existing academic partners and universities eligible for a perpetual license?
Yes. Licenses are updated automatically following the migration of your Capturing Reality account to an Epic Games account. If you experience any issues please contact sales@capturingreality.com.
How do we apply for an academic license?
Please create an Epic account by following the steps here. You can then apply for an academic license through our website.
I am a university student. Am I entitled to get a free license as well?
We offer licenses through academic institutions. While we do not offer directly to university students, we would encourage you to recommend that your university apply for one. Please also note that we have substantially reduced the prices of our PPI offering.

Can I continue using my legacy sign-in credentials?
Yes. However, you won't be able to make any additional purchases with your accounts. To claim your new upgraded license or make additional purchases, please migrate to an Epic account.
I am a user of RealityCapture for Steam – am I eligible for an upgrade?
Yes. Users of RealityCapture for Steam with an active license purchased before March 9, 2021 are also eligible for a Perpetual Enterprise license. Just sign-in with your Steam information and follow the prompts.
